January Featured Training Program - Master of Wicca Review

Submitted by Dr. Nebac on 12/27/2011

The reading material included with this course is very thorough and focuses on Wicca's practical and positive effects. Understanding the practicality of Wicca is vital. It taught about the importance of ritual but illustrated that ritual is not the only aspect of Wicca.

I've been a Wiccan for many years and I already knew many of these lessons, such as the importance of focusing energy through the entire body. It was great to see a course that also understood these lessons.

One important aspect of Wicca is that we don't forget the importance of keeping out unneeded influences. There is no need to let in negative experiences or ideas that clash with or cheapened Wiccan experiences. The focus on using Wicca carefully and respectfully was a fresh of breath air for me.

That lesson is something that "false" Wiccans need to consider more carefully. Often, they are attracted to Wicca because they think it is "edgy" or scary. These people often find themselves in danger due to their new found power. Learning Wicca to gain power is not acceptable.

Spellwork attracts a wide range of people who's motivations may not be pure. Wielding energy and manipulating it is a powerful trip. However, playing in these ancient arts makes me concerned as it is serious work and should not be considered fun and lighthearted.

Most people that try their hand at Wicca in this way are wildly unsuccessful. However, people that have ability beyond their training are a cause for concern. I have a daughter who can manipulate energy without any training. I have tried to keep her responsible with her powers as she sometimes feels the joy of power.

People who are born with natural witching abilities must be guided by experienced witches. They must learn how to use their powers carefully and with respect. Playing with energy and other people in such a way is a serious concern and should be treated with the respect necessary. Irresponsible pop culture books that discuss Wicca flout it as "magic" and lure young people in with the promise of power.

I have always used Wicca as a way to communicate with God and his Goddess. I've avoided flaunting my abilities and have never done it to obtain power. The group energy of a Wiccan church can be hard to control and manipulate. These groups may also fall victim to the "organized religion" curse that causes people to neglect their religion and become lazy.

Finding a way to connect with ourselves, nature and others is usually a singular path. Following a solitary path can be hard for many. It can cause them to lose their way. I believe that a singular path helps create a more honest and sincere understanding of Wicca. One mustn't fit in with the group to feel happy.

I greatly enjoyed this course and found it a great source for somebody interested in Wicca. It helped review a lot of the lessons I have learned on my singular path.
